Question by Don Philly: What type of bird is this? (picture)?
We live in central Texas and this bird has been hanging out outside our house for a few days now.

That is, unfortunately, a 'game bird' meaning that hunters shoot/kill them. I can't remember if that is from the Quail family or if it is Dove or Pigeon. Throw out some wild bird seed (with black sunflower seeds) and it will never leave your house
