I have a couple of male lovebirds currently, and it’s really fun having lovebirds!!! Especially if they’re tame… But you could tame them. My baby Fischer’s Lovebird wasn’t really tame when I first got him at one and a half months old. He was just handfed, meaning he was used to letting people feed him. But, before considering adopting or buying a lovebird, you have to pick carefully the species that you prefer having. Here are a few species I can tell you about:

Peach-Faced Lovebird (Agapornis roseicollis): The most popular species of lovebird, the Peach-Faced Lovebird has different color mutations and a rosy-peach colored face, and they tend to be sweet and kind. They are also the largest species of lovebird, being 5-6 inches tall, and 50-60 grams in weight. They are small in size but big in personality. They love interacting with their owners and just enjoy playing with new toys. Their noise level is usually low, with a life expectancy of usually up to 20 years.

Fischer’s Lovebird (Agapornis fischeri): One of the smaller species, the Fischer’s lovebird is only 4-6 inches in height,
