Question by Georgie: The orbital ring/eye ring of a bird…?
Howdy! I don’t know all that much about birds yet, but I’m trying to learn. Are the orbital ring and the eye ring of a bird the same thing? If they are not, could you explain the difference to me please? I am looking at two different diagrams, and each one uses a different term, but the arrows pointing to the body parts are slightly indistinct, so it’s hard to tell. Thanks!!!

The orbital is the skeletal housing of the eye (The eye socket), the term eye ring (in birds) is usually referring to identifying coloration of skin or feathers near the eye.
