Question by Kait: Advice on an African Grey Parrot?
I have three smaller birds – a jenday conure, a meyers parrot, and a white-capped pionus. I have a friend with two african grey parrots, neither of them are bonded to each other or her and her family. One of them has started plucking, as she doesn’t really have time for him anymore. She asked us if we would be interested in adopting, and we are considering it. I have been doing a lot of research on them online, as I am really only familiar with smaller birds. Our birds are all kept in a seperate room off the main room of our house. We would most likely house him in a quieter nook of the house, at least to start, not in with our other birds. I am just looking for some general advice, any thoughts, tidbits, whatever anyone has to offer. Thanks so much!

African Greys are not as loud and messy as other large parrots.. but they still can be loud.
Their diet should consist of 50 percent pellets, 5 percent seed, and 45 percent fresh fruit & veggies, and cooked healthy human foods such as pastas, bits of meat, eggs, etc.
Fruits & veggies they can eat:
Apples, carrots, blueberries, strawberries, rasberries, bananas, celery, etc.
Avoid avacado, chocolate, alcohol, and other harmful things. ♥
