Cornell Birds What kind of bird looks like a fat robin, with a red breast, yellow beak, white underbody + tail feathers?

Question by curiousme: What kind of bird looks like a fat robin, with a red breast, yellow beak, white underbody + tail feathers?
Seen in upstate NY in late February 2009. A group of birds landed in a tree, and some of them went to the ground and started pecking around. They were larger than robins and their bellies were rounded.
