Question by dley00: How can I tell what kind of bird is making a nest in our bird house?
There were two this morning. One was sitting on top (more or less supervising) It had some blue on its head and a prominent white belly. Another was in and out of the house and was darker in color with no really special markings.
The bird house is suppose to be for blue birds but last year something else took up home there also.
We live in upstate NY
I think you are right it looks like a tree swallow
