We have a birds nest on our patio with some baby birds in it that just hatched, how long will it take before the baby birds can fly and leave the nest/their mother?

Depends on the species. Could be 11-19 days.

Just remember that the babies fledge (leave the nest) BEFORE they can fly. They need time to hop around on the ground and climb low branches and exercise their wings until they have strengthened them enough for flight. The parents will continue to feed the fledglings until they are self-sufficient. So if you see baby birds on the ground that have most of their feathers but still are not flying, it is normal. Leave them for the parents to tend.
