from our visit to an ostrich farm on washington island in door county last week. the birds are big, but their heads are small, and seeing as this was shot with a 35mm lens this is insanely close — the beak is within a couple inches of the lens front.
Thai Chili Peppers (a.k.a. Bird’s Eye Chilis)

I love the poetic Asian names often given to foods or dishes. These Thai chili peppers are also known as Bird’s Eye chili peppers. We buy these beautiful hot Asian chili peppers fresh from our local Asian supermarket and use them in our Thai cooking. These peppers freeze well, so we always have some on hand when we get a craving for Thai food. While we frequent our favourite Thai restaurants often, we have just recently started to try cooking Thai food at home and we are really enjoying trying to replicate some of our favourite dishes. I love Thai food. I love Thailand. I love Thai people. As a country, Thailand has the friendliest, kindest people I’ve ever met.
