Question by railendsgirl: How to handle a new african gray parrot?
I just got a new african gray parrot. She is about two years old and my uncle left her with my grandmom. He had her since she was a baby. He moved and could not take her with him. My grandmom gave her to me. I have not handled her yet. I need to know what it means when she puffs her feathers up. Sometimes she puts her head down, other times she holds her head up. I have never had a bird before! Can someone please help me?

How long have you had her? Is she tame? I’d start by talking to her then offer her some food with your hand, when she’s used to that put your hand in front of the food so she has to put 1 hand on you then both ect.
