Some cool bird identification images:
The Bird Next Door (Killdeer)
This bird lives in the neighbor’s yard. There are two of them, and three eggs. On the day of these photos, one of the two was running around, then displaying its tail feathers and back to the other. Unfortunately, the other was more interested in watching what I was doing, slowly barely inching in closer with my camera and a 200mm lens! I haven’t looked at the two enough to tell them apart.
For the Bird Identification Help Group, this photo was taken in Murrieta, (southern) California, (western) USA. These birds have been living in the neighbor’s yard for at least a few years now, I believe, but this photo was taken on March 22nd, 2009.
Thanks to itslogvt for identifying this bird as a Killdeer!
