Question by a.little.asian: What are the most common types of birds fly around city neighborhoods on the mainland?
I live in Hawaii, so the most common bird I see flying around city neighborhoods are zebra doves, pigeons, & mynah birds. I’m writing a poem based upon a picture that looks to take place on the mainland. What types of birds do you see? Where do you live? It’s best if you list birds that you know to commonly frequent other states in the U.S. & are not located close to beaches or too far up north. Respectful answers please, thank you

Pigeons are probably most common, but they’re grey and sort of ugly since they need to blend in with the pavement and urban settings. You’ll see larger flocks of them, and they can be pretty annoying in places like parks and even homes. Many will even call them “flying rats.”
Sparrows are probably next most frequent.
