As much as I love birds, one would think I could identify them better than I can, so perhaps I need to get on the stick and start learning. Several months ago I purchased a copy of National Geographic’s Guide to the Birds of North America, but I left it on my desk at work, where it didn’t do me much good today as I visited the Gilbert Riparian Preserve. (I believe this one is a brown-throated wren; anyone who knows more about bird identification than I do is invited to confirm or correct me on this.)
