Question by : What are the functions of thistle seed for a bird?
I have a pet European Goldfinch (male), and I want to know what thistle (nyjer) seed does for him?
I’ve heard that it will make his feathers more colorful and shiny, is this true?

Goldfinches relish this seed it keeps them in good condition health and feather ,but do mix a little Canary seed in as it will make him fat and lazy.
