Question by Lainee: What did they mean by ‘Thorn Birds’ In Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle?
In the scene where Mother Superior shows them the car that the Thin Man sent, Dylan sees this (completely gorgeous and cute) guy. You hear a boing sound, and Alex mutters ‘Thorn Birds.’
I don’t get what she means by it. Can anyone explain to me what they’re saying?

“The Thorn Birds” is a best-selling novel by Colleen McCullough which was turned into a classic TV miniseries that mainly focuses on the forbidden love between a woman and a priest. Some people consider this the best miniseries ever made.
The Thorn Birds (1983 TV miniseries)
starring Richard Chamberlain, Rachel Ward, Bryan Brown, Barbara Stanwyck, Jean Simmons, Richard Kiley, Christopher Plummer
IMDb synopsis:
The story covers 60 years in the lives of the Cleary family, brought from New Zealand to Australia to run Aunt Mary Carson’s ranch. The story centers on their daughter, Meggie, and her love for the family’s priest, Father Ralph de Bricassart. Meggie tries to forget Ralph by marrying dashing stockman Luke O’Neill, but she and Ralph are soon reunited, with tragic consequences for them both.
TRIVIA:
After co-starring as man and wife, Bryan Brown and Rachel Ward got married though, if I recall, the marriage didn’t last too long. For a while after the miniseries, the two of them were “hot properties” and made a number of movies.
Here are two music videos from YouTube. Beware! They contain spoilers about the story but also might intrigue you enough to watch the movie:
