What type of parrot? Most parrots need a lot of patience and a lot of attention. Try to play with your parrot about at least half an hour a day, talking to it all the while to sooth the parrot and let it familiarize with voices. It may take several months for the parrot to be completely friendly. As for talking, if you don’t have a lot of time and devotion to spend on the parrot, use a tape recorder to play desired words during feeding time, when the parrot’s attention is at its peak.
