Hummingbird Moth
A visitor to the farm pointed out the presence of a hummingbird moth. The next day I brought the camera and took a look. There were actually two, but this one was more colorful. They seemed to prefer the Verbena Bonariensis. Saw one a couple of years ago, but this picture is much better than what I got then.
According to www.silkmoths.bizland.com/hthysbe.htm, the clearwing hummingbird moth (Hemaris thysbe) is the adult form of the tomato hornworm. So with all the tomatoes I usually have around here I should see a lot of these.
