  Habitat – Mediterranean Woodlands and Shrublands, Montane vegetation
  Distribution – Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria.
  Origin – Seeds collected in Israel, many thanks to Ori
  Syn – Colymbada crocodylium ; Crocodylium syriacum ; Centaurea crocodylioides ; Centaurea dinsmoreana

  These little birds are numerous at our feeders. All though the books say they head south to warmer climate I had two at my feeder this week Jan19th. They favor thistle seed but will eat black oil sunflower seeds.
