Cornell Birds north america birds?

Question by adair_J: north america birds?
yes I observed a bird at my backyard feeder….never seen this particular bird before in my area…description>> black head and beak…red splash on white breast..also black wings with white bars…about robin size…can anyone tell me what the name of this bird is??? help !

Sounds like a Rose-breasted Grosbeak.
