Question by Alli: What is the best/your favorite bird guide?
I’m looking to buy a new bird guide. I need one small enough to carry with me when I go birdwatching but large enough to contain a good amount of info regarding the habits of the birds. I live on the East coast of the US, if that helps.
So, what are your favorite bird guides? Which would you say is the best?

Some of my favorites are The National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Birds, The Sibley Field Guide To Birds, and The National Wildlife Federation Field Guide to Birds of North America. Those three books have all the information you’ll ever need to help identify North American bird species. They have excellent photos, descriptions, maps, and bird checklists. The National Audubon Society has a book that has only the Eastern North American Birds in it, if that’s all you’re interested in. David Allen Sibley is the author.
