After yesterday’s heavy six inches of snow (from the Snowquester storm), many thousands of folks were without power in Fauquier. The local birds took advantage of the seed I had placed outside when the snow stopped. Among the dozen or so species at the feeders today, a gang of Blue Jays, far more skittish than one would imagine, flitted from the bent cedars to the flat trays.
