Birds Pictures What types of birds will eat paper wasps?

Question by Anonymous: What types of birds will eat paper wasps?
If there are any birds that eat them, will they eat the actual insects, or just the larvae? I’ve never been able to find a specific answer to this question.

Birds which specialise in feeding on large (or largish) insects which they catch in flight will eat paper wasps, although these will be taken one at a time away from the wasps nest. The types of bird involved include Shrikes and Bee-eaters, which feed on any insects they can catch (and may remove stings from bees and wasps by beating them on a branch).

Honey-buzzards on the other-hand do seek out the nests of wasps but they feed on the larvae developing within the nest not the adult wasps.
