Bird Photos what's the best camera to use for capturing both birds and lightening?

Question by Tammy: what’s the best camera to use for capturing both birds and lightening?
I love to take nature shots ( birds and butterflies – water and trees) but am interesting in capturing some great lightening shots. Nothing too expensive around $ 250-$ 300. What I have now is a Kodak 10.2MP with 3X optical zoom. I get great opportunities, but when I enlarge by pictures the quality goes out the window. Any suggestions?

Get a digital camera with a higher megapixel/resolution. That, or get a used SLR camera, those are the best. Unfortunately, I own a $ 2,500 camera and haven’t managed to catch lightening on it. Your budget makes it harder to recommend something but I’ve always love the quality of xilm digital cameras. Good luck
