According to the locals the wild elderberry crop has failed resulting in the bears coming into town earlier and in larger numbers then usual. The bird feeder pole at the cabin had been bent to the ground and feeders gnawed on. At the neighbors, where this was taken, the plum and apple trees were the target. As much as I wanted photos I was not going out at night looking for them.
Front walk

Looking from the front walk toward the north corner of the house. There used to be ugly poured concrete sidewalks and now there’s just dirt. To the right of the bird feeder pole, on the ground, you can see some of the large paving stones we’ll lay in place after we do some more landscaping.
