Question by Alisha: Why is the male cockatiel extremely protective of the nest box?
My male cockatiel is extremely protective of the nest box and tries to bite me just for trying to come into the cage or near the female. They generally dont bite and are fairly tame the female dont bite and he just nips I figure the nest box brought this behavior out in him. I just didnt know if it was expected of him to be so protective he wont go far from it. I have did lots of research on cockatiel breeding and have printed out alot of info. I appreciate any tips and advice. Thanks.
Thank you so much for all the answers I appreciate it really helps in knowing what to expect
