Question by L: Bird of paradise stems falling over and bending?
I just recieved a older bird of paradise plant in a container from a friend that her mother died last week and she could not keep it, she says it blooms each year but looks very neglected, leaves are fallen over and steams mashed together at the bend. What do i need to do to get it back with proud leaves reaching the sky.

A photo will help alot in identifying the problem. But usually, overwatering during the winter months causes the roots to rot, and unable to drink new water. The plant will produce new roots quickly now that it has warmed up. They like to be rootbound, so I wouldn’t repot it now. Give it a bright spot outside but not too much direct sunlight, Fertilize with miricle grow.
