Question by Triskelion: How do I keep sparrows away?
We recently put up a bird feeder and have enjoyed seeing the variety of birds that come to eat in our city neighborhood. However, we have had several flocks of sparrows come and completely decimate our seed within an hour. Is there any feed that will attract chickadees, nuthatches, woodpeckers, titmice, etc. that sparrows don’t like as much? We’ve tried a generic mix and black oil sunflower so far.

Sparrows pretty much eat anything they can get.
