Question by GiddyGo11: Why are there no hummingbirds in Australia?
I am researching why biogeographically and evolutionarily there are no hummingbirds in Australia. I am looking to prove that a very early ancestor evolved in a part of the world far away from Australia, and that swifts as a family are older than hummingbirds (because Australia does have swifts). Those are the best things I can think of and I am currently scouring the primary literature for evidence.

i actually had a assisngment about that in middle school…thats a major hunting game, for the young children in austrailia if you are able to catch a hummingbird and kill it repectfully with a blade, they will be a great hunter, cant see how theyd catch one though
