Question by S25: What are some good endangered species facts to use in a debate?
What are some good *general* endangered species facts to use in a debate? I am the pro side of the debate arguing that humans should take responsibility for the endangered species.
please help me think of some STATISTICS/FACTS and some ANALOGYS that would stump the opponents.
THANKS!

I’ll give you a few facts=
-The i’iwi, a native hawaiian bird, is losing its habitat fast. It’s relatives have already become extinct
-The Yangtze River Dolphin, or Baiji, is strongly believed to now be extinct, one of the facotrs to this are the dams put up in the Yangtze River. The Baiji became seperated into smaller groups. Because of this, it was much harder to find a mate. Other factors include pollution, and ship propeller noise. The noise interupted their sense of locating food in the water.
-Other than the Baiji, many, many dolphins and sharks have been caught in fishing traps. Sharks breath from movement, so when they are stuck in fishing nets, they are unable to collect enough oxygen, and suffocate.
-Also, because of tourists and divers, some fish are friendly to us and do not recognize humans as threats, so they are easily killed by hunters believing they have come to stroke and feed them.
hope this helps
