The birds need enough calories to keep warm this season.
Are you insuring that the birds are getting enough food during this cold by keeping your bird feeders full?
Are you also providing suet as well?

I provide seed only from December through March.
With all the neighbours feeding our feathered friends I am thinking of developing a low calorie bird seed for them to help prevent obesity (tongue in cheek).
