wiki says "Three closely related North American bird forms—the eastern Myrtle Warbler, its western counterpart, Audubon’s Warbler, and the Central American Goldman’s Warbler—are periodically lumped as the Yellow-rumped Warbler (Dendroica coronata)." That makes this individual an Audubon’s based on the western location (CA), and also the bright yellow throat is diagnostic according to Sibley, thanks to Gary – encouragement (see comment below)
