Question by : Is it natural for pet birds to pull out their feathers ?
I have two pet Zebra Finch Birds. The smaller one of my birds has pulled all the feather from underneath her out. This week the Temperature did get very Hot up to 30 degrees. Is this normal for her to do this ?

They are bored. ‘Plucking’ can become a very destructive habit, and I would suggest giving them more mental stimulation.

whilst that answer holds true for parrots, plucking in zebbies is unlikely to be through boredom. It's most likely to be either bullying or a symptom of wanting to breed/nest. I'm not an expert, but I kept and bred zebra finches for several years and have been a parrot owner for longer. Are they males, females or both? you may find putting in a nesthouse or two will solve the problem. They generally use poo and feathers to ine it if they don't have any other materials.
