Question by Niki: Cornell, UC Davis, or Other?
I’m a community college student looking to get into a school that offers classes dealing with birds. The only two that I’ve heard dealing with birds are UC Davis (they do a lott with their flock of amazon parrots) and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Yes Cornell has a lab, but aren’t scientists just hired there? Does Cornell actually offer avian classes?
I know exactly what I want to do for my career (need biology or zoology degree). I have a 3.7 weighted GPA, have earned several academic awards, earned the Girl Scout Gold Award, am active in my community, I foster/tame birds, and have a successfull animal related club on campus. I’m not too worried about getting into the college of my choice, the only thing holding me back is $ $ $ .
So, I really just want to know about all the other schools out there that offer a degree in Biology and have avian related classes. I want to find more than just the 1 or 2 options I currently have. I would rather research all of my options. Would vet school be a choice to consider?
Thanks in advance, wish me luck!

Look into Purdue. I think I read somewhere about parrot behavior research being done there, but I’m not sure.
