rather simple…. just build your roof and then edge it with a three inch tall ‘sideboard’…. that will hold the soil and root mass of the sedum plants… sedum acre is a great one…. then, near the edge, at what will be the ‘bottom’ edge of the roof, drill a few holes so that excess water will be able to flow out….
