Question by Hussain: I Have Problems Trying To Tame My African Grey Parrot?
I have a african grey parrot which is 5 years old and he does not let me touch him on his head or anywhere else apart from his beak, i love him and want to hold him and cuddle him but he doesn’t allow me to , every time i try to touch his head he gets scared and tries to bite me. He talks quite a lot when he comes out of his cage he flies around and when i put my arm next to his feet for him to step up he steps up and comes up to my shoulder and he doesn’t want to go back inside his cage ,i want to tame him and cuddle him i am scared he will bite , and will it hurt? , he also rips the newspaper in his cage and when he goes down to get the food he dropped he steps on poop and then licks it off , and when he is out the cage he poops on the floor and steps on it then he does the same thing. Is there any way i can stop this? Thanks.

African Grays are known to be tempermental and it takes patience, patience, patience, love and time to train your bird. I bet you can get a ton of good advice by going to UTube and typing in “training an African Gray Parrot” and watching videos of how people train their birds.
