I met a very nice man today who gave me a great long list of all the birds around at the moment that I would see if I were patient.
I saw the same as I usually see: a lot of greenfinches and goldfinches and a million sparrows. I guess I better work on the patience thing.
This is the only bird I managed to photograph that I wasn’t sure about. I was hoping it was some sort of tit. The description of "untidy bib" in www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/w/willowtit/index… looked hopeful except that it was in a dry woodland area (near the coast in Mijas Costa, Spain).
Now I’m wondering if it’s just a funny looking sparrow.
