Hoatzin lose their claws as they become adults, but some (maybe up to 1/3) regrow them (though the adult birds are too heavy to use them in climbing). Young Turacos also have wing claws which they lose as they mature, as do Yellow Rails . Ratites (ostrich, rhea, apteryx, etc) have wing claws as adults. Loons, storks, screamers, galliforms, Secretary Birds, owls, and finfoots, have small, non-functional claws. It turns out that in many – possibly most – species of birds, occasional individuals have wing claws.

So really, if any birds are going to be known for wing claws, it ought to be the ratites.

There’s a picture of an emu wing claw at https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwfx6mfDBGokg79rNowNVHwb98Sp_xWcdqvFWXL-gzPxLLLEcH8sroaqiNOASPDE8-HhBK2NceC8VMku78-taBV6iAH-jjzS5b4dsqOX3Wxkd8KTLIUvTmzxi4tVtOdP0Rl11A88-NNS0/s1600-h/Emu+wing+feathers.jpg
